How Is Wood Pellet Fuel Made?

candice By candice 2022-09-21
Untreated waste wood chips, sawdust and offcuts are shipped from sawmills and wood product manufacturers to our pellet plant. Once there, the material is sifted, ground and dried before being pelletized under high pressure through molds, a process that releases naturally occurring lignin, which binds the pellets and gives them a glossy appearance. No harmful glues or additives required!

Our wood pellets contain only 6.9% moisture, which means they burn longer, hotter and more efficiently than firewood or wood chips that typically have a higher moisture content.

Who can use wood pellet fuel?

Anyone with a sawdust burning appliance! Wood pellets are designed to be burned in a special fire or boiler with a screw conveyor system that automatically feeds the pellets into the combustion tank (in a wood pellet fire) or the combustion chamber (in a boiler). EcoPellets Pellet Fuel has high combustion efficiency and low ash content, up to 20.2 MJ/kg – dry basis, to ensure clean combustion at high temperatures.

EcoPellets Tasmania is the state’s leader in premium eco-friendly wood pellets. To ensure environmentally sustainable forest management, we only use raw materials from internationally recognized plantations. Welcome to visit our website to purchase.
